Modern Gladiators explores the tension between the individual and the relentless movement of contemporary life. Photographed at dusk in Rome, the image captures a solitary figure standing at the edge of a busy intersection while streams of traffic sweep around him in luminous ribbons of light.
The composition balances stillness against motion. The pedestrian remains grounded and contemplative while the city races past in every direction.
