The Ferry at Menor's Landing frames a piece of quiet ingenuity against one of America's most photographed skylines. This is a replica of Bill Menor's 1894 "reaction ferry" — a wagon platform mounted on two pontoon hulls, angled against the current of the Snake River to carry travelers across without any motor at all, using nothing but physics and a cable system. Today it rests near the original homestead site, weathered and still, while the Cathedral Group of the Grand Tetons rises through hazy afternoon light behind it.
