Sight Line

from $65.00

Patience is its own kind of composition. Sight Line finds a red, helmeted, antennaed figure in a crimson hood settled behind a scoped rifle, one amber eye narrowed against the glass, on a long mural wall in St. Louis. Behind the barrel, a pink halo glows against a deep field of blue cloud waves, and silver block lettering outlined in red bookends the scene at left and right.

The eye lands first on the amber eye, the smallest and brightest point in the frame, then slides along the long barrel to the right, where it meets the silver lettering that balances the composition. The pink halo and the cobalt wave pattern give the red figure a clean, saturated field to push against. Below the wall, a band of gravel and a few weeds hold the frame to the ground. The photograph keeps the wall flat and frontal, so the figure's patience, not the camera's angle, sets the mood.

The color logic is pure Ernst Haas: one saturated red figure held against a cooler blue field, so that the whole picture turns on the relationship between two hues.

Design & Styling

Sight Line suits game rooms, bars, creative studios, dens, and collectors of pop-surrealist and lowbrow art. The weapon imagery makes it less suited to healthcare, education, or family-focused spaces.

Curated Pairings

To build a wall around this piece, consider these companion pieces:

For the same color logic: Pair with Between Signals, a single precise subject set in a deep blue field, cool and quiet where this one is red and loaded.

For the closest formal match: Pair with Storm Over Metropolis, a red-caped figure against a storm-dark blue sky, the same red-against-blue contrast at a very different scale.

For the single painted figure: Pair with Ember Profile, another mural built around one large painted figure and a saturated halo of color, here red and orange hair against black.

Fine Art Presentation

Available as an open edition print, unsigned and unnumbered, in ChromaLuxe® Metal (gloss, semi-gloss, or matte), Glossy Anti-Glare Acrylic (TruLife), canvas, wood, and archival paper (framed or unframed). ChromaLuxe® Metal (gloss) is the recommended presentation: the crimson figure, pink halo, and cobalt waves all depend on saturation and crisp edges. Glossy Anti-Glare Acrylic (TruLife) adds depth to the blue field for a bolder hang, and framed archival paper suits a quieter setting.

Note: This is an open edition print, unsigned and unnumbered, available in the sizes and materials listed above.
