Counting the Violet Hour is a color study built on contrast — the Prague Metronome's warm, rust-orange needle rising in a sharp diagonal against a deep, saturated violet-blue sky over Letná Park. The 75-foot kinetic sculpture, installed in 1991 on the plinth where a monumental statue of Stalin once stood, becomes here less a landmark than a graphic color relationship: one warm line cutting through a cool, atmospheric dusk.
